Economic Development

WELCOME TO CARRBORO!

Economic Development - Here in Carrboro we support the business community, with a special emphasis on locally owned businesses, by being the hub of information that businesses need to succeed. The Town has two different revolving loan programs that are available to new and existing Carrboro businesses. The loan programs promote and support job creation, business retention, and energy efficiency. The ED Director also staffs the Tourism Development Authority which is an important Economic Development tool for the Town. Economic Development Department strives to provide a high level of customer service and one on one contact with the business community, so please feel free to contact Economic Development Director Jon Hartman-Brown at 919-918-7319 or jhartman-brown@townofcarrboro.org with any of your economic development questions.

BIPOC Business Roundtable Discussion - Nov. 19th @ 4:00pm

The Carrboro Economic Development Department will be holding a BIPoC Business Roundtable Discussion on November 19th at 4:00pm. We especially want to encourage Black, Indigenous, Latinx, and People of Color owned and managed businesses to attend. The discussion will revolve around what steps and support the Town of Carrboro can provide to encourage and support businesses as they start, grow, and develop.
